This painting was really fun to create, I was able to explore different techniques of layering colour underneath a portrait, and how to use this to the portrait’s advantage. My friend’s and I are really into Dungeons and Dragons, and I wanted to create a fun piece paying homage to the game. This is the moment when the wizard casts Plane Shift at a pivotal moment, powerful and calm.
